Linda McQuinn Art StudioI was born and educated in Chicago. I studied Fine Art  and Art History for one year at DePaul University before deciding to change majors and become a Registered Nurse.  I practiced Nursing for 40 years.

I have always been artistic, I drew often and also did wood carvings. When I retired, I plunged into painting. I was influenced by Henri Rousseau  who like me was an “outsider” artist.  I also was influenced by Vincent Van Gogh with his vivid colors, movements and textures.

I like to experiment and have always been a daydreamer.  My training and participation in numerous 100 mile Ultra Runs have helped me to hone my imagination.  I work in Oil or Acrylic often adding, glass, sand, sawdust, etc… to create textures. I have lived in Chicago, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, and North Carolina. I currently live on Pine Island, Florida where I have an Art Studio in Bokeelia.s.
