Pablo Hurtado

Pablo Hurtado – Painter/printmaker Born in Caracas, Venezuela 1955 and lives in the US since 1969. Attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA. Influenced by street art, American art of the 60s through the 80s, as well as a Latin American cultural heritage, his paintings and woodblock prints have evolved into a uniquely personal style. His art career expands decades, having participated in solo and group exhibitions in Boston, Caracas, Bogota and East Hampton, NY. After a hiatus from art and a career in Nursing, Pablo has once again taken up painting and woodblock printmaking full time. The new work is a continuum of his previous body of work with figurative/abstract imagery encompassing ambiguous, cartoon-like “characters” that morph from abstract shapes.
