Rosa Chavez 24-25
| Rosa Chavez, born in Michoacan, Mexico, draws inspiration for her art from the natural elements she cherished in her childhood, such as the sun, wind, water, and living organisms. Her early experiences collecting flowers, leaves, and twigs for collages cultivated a deep connection to nature, which she now channels into her vibrant paintings. After moving to Mexico City and noticing people’s limited interaction with nature, she expanded her artistic expression using various mediums, ultimately favoring oils and acrylics for public exhibitions. Over the past 30 years, Rosa’s work has been showcased in galleries, art shows, and festivals across Canada and the U.S., earning numerous awards. Her art evolved from romanticized European landscapes inspired by her travels to dynamic portrayals of the Great Lakes’ breathtaking scenery. Preferring acrylics for their quick-drying properties and ease of use, Rosa creates her pieces with a continuous flow of inspiration, blending colors directly on the canvas. She shares a studio and a life with her husband, where their mutual love for art and nature fuels their creative synergy. |
