Prodigal Sons

The Prodigal Sons were born out of a love of music. Both Tom and Dana enjoy the nuance of harmonies and the exploration of how deep two acoustic instruments can go.Prodigal Sons play Americana (the Band, Grateful Dead, Jason Isbell), Celtic music (Traditional favorites and modern songs from Flogging Molly, Hothouse Flowers and the Pogues) and originals.

Whole Band featuring Callie Chappell

The Whole band is a mix of many of the Sarasota area’s most talented musicians.  Quickly gathering a large local fan base, they have just released their first CD:  “The Whole Band: Live at Blase’ Cafe“.

Their live show is something to behold, with an amazing blend of original music and mind-blowing versions of covers that showcase the exceptional vocals and musicality of the Whole Band. Their roots are wide, weaving in Americana, Blues, Rock, Bluegrass, Country and R&B.  With super tight three-part harmonies, poignant original lyrics and a groove all their own, they always leave listeners with a smile and a natural high.

Lead singer, Callie Chappell is an award-winning songwriter with a soulful, soaring voice that goes right to the heart. On super-smooth lead vocals and adding incredible guitar skills and songwriting is Kevin Thompson.  Add the young prodigy, Zack Yoder (he can play and sing anything) to the mix and the blend is complete and heavenly!

Dave Peirce is a world-class pedal steel player that can play any style the band throws at him.  Master of the groove, J.P. Coley plays stand-up bass and electric bass guitar.  Finally, keeping it all together is the very much in demand and versatile Steve Apostoli on drums and cajon.

Fans have described the band as “magical”, “amazing”, “the best band around”, “tight”, “a love fest” and “fun”!

The Nouveaux Honkies

“Mother Lovin’ Country Folkin’ Blues”

“The Nouveaux Honkies’ imaginative originals are well-conceived interpretations of blues and R&B classics. They have a matchless sound and perform a blistering show with their futuristic approach to music that nevertheless retains an authentic American style. With fluid guitar work, reverent vocals and a haunting violin, this act is a discovery of the year.” (Dusty Scott, Modern Guitars magazine)
